Villa Montenegro Retreat is a beautiful, period, character, stone villa with pool and a large, gorgeous garden with amazing sea view. Dating from the 17th century, the villa has been sensitively renovated in the spirit of the authentic Montenegro country holiday home. This secluded, private luxury family villa in peaceful surroundings comprises 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and one guest toilet and is situated in a beautiful garden of 7000 square metres. The villa was renovated in 2016 and again in 2022. The hillside position enables you to have stunning, direct sea views, plenty of sunshine and fresh air. Modern additions to this luxury private villa with pool are WiFi and air conditioning in individual rooms.
The villa is fully fenced and has security cameras, which can be turned off on request. There is parking for several cars in the villa grounds. A massage therapist can be arranged to visit. A chef can also be arranged on request.
Luxury private villa Montenegro Retreat is located in Sutomore, near the larger town of Bar and 45 km from one of the best sandy beaches in the Adriatic, the Ulcinj beach. Bar is a very historic town, with the magnificent modern cathedral of St Jovan Vladimir topped with shining gold domes, built at the end of the 20th century. Another impressive holy building is the Omerbasic Mosque and in general, Ulcinj has a lot of Islamic culture.
Bar is less crowded in the summer than its more famous competitors - Kotor and Budva, but beaches are lovely and Old Bar is a fascinating part of the town on a steep slope. Not far from the city centre is the oldest tree in Europe, The Old Olive Tree, 2000 years old and adored by all. Outdoor activities involve canyoning which can be gentle or really adrenaline packed, according to your choice. There are plenty of bars, pubs and clubs for dancing and music. Only half of an hour from Bar is the magical, beautiful lake Skadar - the largest lake in the Balkans, teaming with wildlife and birds in particular. This romantic, atmospheric lake is surrounded by mountains. For the ultimate adventure we can organise a rafting tour to the north of Montenegro, in the deepest canyon of Europe, on the river Tara. Try the scenic zip line across the river. Montenegro is famous for its red wines, so do visit the largest single vineyard in Europe containing 11.5 million vines. For children, a sure attraction will be the Montenegro Animal Sanctuary where they can be bottle feeding lambs, piglets and goats and see camels and orphaned bears.
ACCOMMODATION
Ground floor
The ground floor of the villa comprises two cool and comfortable en-suite bedrooms. One bedroom has sea view and is equipped with a king-size bed (180 x 200 cm) and en-suite shower. The other bedroom has beautiful mountain view and sleeps three guests, one king-size bed (180 x 200 cm) and one single bed (90 x 200 cm). The en-suite bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub. The bedrooms and bathrooms have stone floors and beamed ceilings and modern versions of rustic furniture, wardrobes and desks, which is very stylish in this house. There are craftsman made mirrors and basin stands, quality bed linen and towels and all is very tasteful. There is also a guest toilet on the ground floor.
First floor
The living room is very spacious and has stone tiled floors, exposed stone walls, a fireplace and a dining area, plus a lovely country style kitchen with marble tops. The ceiling is covered with old wooden beams, all totally in keeping with the traditional Montenegro style. The sitting room has several comfortable leather sofas, a study area and a 50 inch TV. The new kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker, hob, microwave, mixer, washing machine, coffee maker, kettle, cooking utensils and tableware.
The master bedroom has a rustic yet modern flair and comprises a king-size bed (180 x 200 cm),two fold-able single beds which are situated in the walk-in wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower. The master bedroom is very spacious and features a stylish sitting area with access to a balcony overlooking the garden, with views of the mountains and the sea.
The second bedroom on this floor has also a king-size bed (180 x 200 cm), two single beds, and a seating area with balcony access. The en-suite bathroom comes with a shower.
Second floor/gallery
From the sitting room step ladders lead up to a gallery which accommodates a double bed (160 x 200 cm).
Second floor/loft
There are two bedrooms with mountain view which share a bathroom with shower. One bedroom with king-size bed (180 x 200 cm) and the other bedroom with three single beds (90 x 200 cm).
OUTSIDE
The magnificent gardens comprise 7000 square metres and provide privacy and stunning sea views. You can relax on the luscious lawns, sit under fruit trees, and dip into the infinity swimming pool. There are quality sunbeds and draped, four poster cabanas around the pool and pool towels are provided. To one side of the garden there is a covered terrace with a barbecue and a large al fresco dining table seating 20 people.
